Anticipated Releases | January and February 2021

Happy Near Year to all! You know what I love most about a new year? New books! Below are the books I’m itching to read that release in these next two months.

Release date: January 5th, 2021

Even though I’ve already read this book, I believe that One of the Good Ones by Maika and Maritza Moulite should be on everyone’s radar. It’s an amazing and, sadly, very real commentary on racial injustice. This story stayed with me long after I finished and I hope everyone decides to pick it up.

I will read ANYTHING Angie Thomas writes. When I read The Hate U Give, I thought Maverick was a great side character. As Star and Seven’s father, I was intrigued by his background. He was an ex-gang member that turned his life around. I’m happy that we’ll finally be getting his story.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this beautiful book from Netgalley. Namina Forna wrote a book all about female empowerment and I love to see it. The story follows Deka, a 16-year-old girl who fears her blood turning gold, the color of demons. When her worst fear comes true, she’s left with a choice: fight or suffer consequences worse than death. This was a fun read and should be in everyone’s TBR.

I mean, it’s SJM. Need I say anymore? Even though I’m not a fan of the cover, I do plan on reading this once it comes out. Nesta wasn’t my favorite character, but Cassian is enough to make want this book in my hands now!!

It’s been four years since I read anything by Penelope Ward. This year I want to read more romance, so I’ll be trying to incorporate romance reads every month. The Crush is a second-chance/brother’s best friend romance that I hope I’ll enjoy.
