My first monthly wrap up! Yes it’s five months into the year, but better late than never, right? So here are the books I gained, the books I read, and the books that I will read:
Books I Gained:
I didn’t buy any physical books this month, but got some great Kindle reads and some ARCs from Netgalley:
Not That Kind of Guy by Andie J. Christopher
I’m trying to read more contemporary romance this year. I’ve seen some promising reviews about this read and can’t wait to dive in.
From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I recently found a new bookish podcast, The Bibliovert Podcast, over on Spotify and I love it! Their next episode is on From Blood and Ash and I knew I had to read it so I could join in on all the talk.
Pistol Daisy by Natalia Leigh
I received an ARC of Pistol Daisy from the author Natalia Leigh earlier this month and really enjoyed this story. Check it out when it comes out June 9th!
Queen Move by Kennedy Ryan
Colleen Hoover posted this book on her Instagram, and with her being one of my favorite authors, I had to take the bait.
With me trying to read more romance books, I requested a few ARCs from Netgalley and was gifted with these three reads that come out later on this year:
Love Me Like You Do by Aimee Brown
The Bro Code by Elizabeth Seibert
To be Your Last (To Be Yours #3) by Rae Kennedy
Books I Read:
I read four books this month!! Yay me! That is the most I’ve read in a month for 2020. Let’s hope I can keep this up.
Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco – check out my review
Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston – check out my review
Pistol Daisy by Natalie Leigh – check out my review
Escaping From Houdini by Kerri Maniscalco – review to come
Books I’m Currently Reading
From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout: I am just started this book and I’m really enjoying it so far. I haven’t read a JLA book in YEARS. I loved her Covenant series and I missed her writing. It’s like talking to an old friend.
Next Month’s Reads:
I’m hoping to finish the Stalking Jack the Ripper series by Kerri Maniscalco, the last book is Capturing the Devil; I’m curious to see how Audrey Rose and Thomas’s story end up. I’m going to try and knock out two of the ARCs I received. Which two? I don’t know yet. And if I get lucky, I’ll have some time to reread one of my favorite books, Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan.
Reading Goal Update:
This year I told myself to try and read at least two books per month, for a total of 24 books. With work and everything else going on, I’m lucky if I can get a solid two hours of reading in every night. Currently I’m at 11 out of 24. If the rest of the year turns out like May, I will no doubt surpass my goal.
